Our Curriculum

We are proud of our curriculum at Long Buckby Junior School. 

The children learn three themes every year with each one either having a history or geography focus.  Each of the themes revolve around different texts.  Part of the success of this approach is that the focus is initially kept a secret from the children until they have investigated the different clues given and used their thinking skills to determine what it might be.  The children are excited every term by the thought of a new theme.

For some subjects the school follows a scheme of work.  In Music we use the Charanga scheme, as recommended by the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust.  In Computing we use the iCompute scheme.
